Hey, Arvel, remember me? I played piano with you, Charlie Mitchell and Randy Panda in the band Texas Wildlife in the late-early '70's (yikes!). Over at Quadrasonic Corporation of America Studios in Fort Worth - we recorded our first rehearsal in the studio . . . we just let the tape run. We recorded ''Country Gospel'', ''My Bad Luck's Old'', ''Devil Shivered In His Sleeping Bag'', ''Rollin' In My Sweet Baby's Arms'' and ''Shotgun Willie''. I've still got the reel-to-reel! And remember when we drove my 1973 yellow Pinto Squire station wagon to Tucson in the middle of the summer and I bought all those amps, etc.? I remember you got a pre-CBS Fender Twin Reverb and a Fender Vibratone from me. Still got 'em? Drop me a line, old friend. It would great to hear from you. Enjoying your site, too! Dennis Pratt P.S. I am now band leader and keyboard player for Mel Tillis . . . I have been with Mel for 28 years (so far)!

Holy Cow, Arvil...what a site. I first entered the Cellar, downstairs, in Nov. 1961. 18 yrs. old and a student at Weatherford Jr. College. I drove to the Cellar every night until late 1962. My first night there I was greeted by the guy in the black and white vest....JoJo...remember him? What memories! All the ''flavored rum/coke I could drink. In 1967 I joined the Texas Highway Patrol and still frequented the Dallas and Ft. Worth Cellars. Pat would still sneak me a ''flavored'' rum/coke and let me sit in back...after all I was in uniform. I would come in, but they didn't play the Mickey Mouse theme. Lucky for me. Love the site..keep it up!!! Dave

Hi Arvel, This is Bruce Harper. You may remember me sitting in on drums all the time for Adrian and Chester in the 1965-1966 time period and even before that as far back as 1963. I was raised in Ft. Worth and while attending UNT I used to drive down form Denton with Lon Price to play with you guys several nights a week! I remember playing with you, Tudi, Johnny Nash and all the others! I wouldn't trade those nights for anything! I really gained some valuable experience form playing with the Cellar musicians! I actually put a band together at the Cellar in 1965 called the Wilibu Six. Band members were Al Griffin, Mike Steele, Lon Price, Bobby Blood and Dick Geer. We made our debut at the Cellar and worked around Ft. Worth at the Partyline, Traser Club, East Side Club and Gringo's in Dallas. I am still playing the drums professionally in Las Vegas! Thanks for putting the stuff on the internet about you and the Cellar!
